Choose the Deluxe Edition of Planet Zoo 2 for six additional animal species and exclusive animal signs alongside the base game. Choose Standard for the base game alone. The Deluxe animals belong to the Deluxe Upgrade Pack; the pre-order Bonus Content Pack is a separate set of decorations.
This comparison covers the 13 October 2026 launch on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with edition contents checked on launch day. Match your purchase to the included-content list on your platform before paying, especially if you already own the game.
Check the six Deluxe animals
Look for the Deluxe Upgrade Pack in the edition's contents if any of these species are part of your zoo plans. The pack adds the following six animals, plus its exclusive animal signs. Use the full species names when comparing the pack with the base game's roster, rather than treating every bird or aquatic animal as a Deluxe extra.
- Golden Eagle
- Golden Lion Tamarin
- Great Hammerhead Shark
- Axolotl
- Blue and Gold Fusilier
- Longfin Batfish

You can build aquariums and aviaries in the base game, which includes animals such as the Blacktip Reef Shark, Hawksbill Turtle and Toco Toucan. Buy Deluxe for its named additional species and signs, rather than buying it simply to access flying or fully aquatic animals. Compare the edition with your order
| Edition | UK suggested price | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | £39.99 | Base game |
| Deluxe | £54.99 | Base game and Deluxe Upgrade Pack |
At Frontier's UK suggested prices, Deluxe costs £15 more than Standard. Use your storefront's checkout price for the actual amount, including any discount. On the Xbox store, the separate Deluxe Upgrade Pack requires the base game: check your existing edition before purchasing that add-on, since Deluxe already bundles it.
Keep the Bonus Content Pack separate when reading a pre-order receipt. It contains the Toucan Eat Shop and Signage, three unique animal donation bins and the Tiger Photo Stand-In Wall. Both Standard and Deluxe pre-orders list those decorations. Choose Deluxe for the six extra animals; a Bonus Content Pack entry alone means the decoration pack, rather than the Deluxe species.
If you are ordering around launch, check whether your store still offers the pre-order bonus before completing payment. Use the included pack names to confirm what you are buying: Deluxe Upgrade Pack for the additional animals, Bonus Content Pack for the pre-order decorations.
