Yes, you can continue your Enshrouded Early Access saves in 1.0. Your saves convert to the new format, so you can keep playing your existing world. This covers the PC transition to the full release on 15 October 2026. You can also start again to experience the revised opening.
Keep your existing world or start afresh
Continue your Early Access save if keeping your established world is your priority. Starting over is Keen Games' recommendation for experiencing the changes to the world and first few hours, rather than a requirement for playing 1.0. Choose a fresh start when you want to experience that revised introduction; choose your existing save when you want to carry on.
You can use your existing PC purchase, too. Owning Enshrouded in Early Access gives you the PC 1.0 release without buying it again. Keep this route on PC: the Early Access save conversion described here concerns your existing PC saves. For playing with friends, check the separate PC and PS5 crossplay limits before arranging a session.

Find your save after conversion
Load 1.0 with your existing save. When the game detects data from version 0.8 or earlier, it backs that data up before automatically migrating it. The converted format uses smaller files and a simpler folder structure.
If your expected character or world is missing, check the tabs in both selection menus. Local saves and Steam Cloud saves have separate tabs: select the storage location you used. Look for your expected character and world in the appropriate list before creating replacements.
On Windows, the new local save folder is C:\Users\WINDOWSUSER\Saved Games\keen games\Enshrouded\default, with WINDOWSUSER representing your Windows user folder. Use that location when looking for local data; use the selection menu's Steam Cloud tab for cloud saves.
