To craft a teammate's banner in Apex Legends, open a Replicator and choose Player Banners, then take the banner to a Respawn Beacon. Every Legend can do this in Core modes, including Ranked. You can recover an expired banner through crafting, so missing the deathbox collection window need not end your teammate's match.
This route covers Season 30, Marked, launched on 4 August 2026, with Split 2 starting on 15 September. The same Core-mode rules apply on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Use the crafting route when you need to bring an eliminated teammate back from somewhere safer than the fight that killed them.
Check that your teammate is dead
Start with the teammate's state: banner crafting requires a dead squad member. A knocked teammate still needs a revive, rather than a newly printed banner. Once they are eliminated, decide whether you can safely recover their existing banner from the deathbox. Collecting it gives you the beacon route without stopping at a Replicator; crafting provides another way to obtain it.
Choose your Legend for their abilities, rather than treating Support as a requirement for this rescue. All Legends can craft banners. Support Legends add a useful benefit: they spawn a Mobile Respawn Beacon when crafting a dead teammate's banner. You can still use a normal Respawn Beacon with another class. Older instructions restricting banner crafting to Support squads no longer apply.
Print Player Banners at a Replicator
Find a Replicator, approach it and open its crafting menu. Choose Player Banners, let the item print and collect the banner. Crafting is free: leave the old 30-material collection route behind. The free crafting system arrived with Breakout in February 2024, alongside a reduced menu containing Shield Battery, Medkit, Ammo and Player Banners.
Plan that choice before printing another item. Printing exhausts that particular Replicator for you, so a battery or ammunition craft can use the station you intended for the rescue. If you have already used it, find another Replicator. This is a reason to check the station and your teammate's state before spending time searching for a missing banner option.
Take the banner to a safe beacon
With the banner collected, move to a Respawn Beacon and use it to return your teammate. Pick a location you can defend while they arrive, rather than rushing back into the same exposed position. For a Mobile Respawn Beacon, deploy it from your inventory at the chosen location first, then use the beacon for the respawn.
Keep watching the area during the dropship sequence. Overclocked shortened its arrival to get returning players onto the ground sooner, while extending the dropship's hover time so enemies can still spot the return. The rescue is complete when your teammate is back in the match; obtaining or printing their banner is only the first part of the route.
Use a deathbox only when you hold the area
When you have cleared the fight and can protect the box, you also have a closer alternative. Hold the deathbox respawn interaction to bring your teammate back there. This takes at least seven seconds and is noisy and visible to nearby enemies. Clear the surroundings before beginning, and favour the banner-and-beacon route when you need to disengage.

A deathbox respawn returns weapons and gear still left unlooted in that box. Repeated deaths increase its lockout time, temporarily disabling this option; surviving longer resets the timer. When that route is locked or the area is unsafe, recover or craft the banner and use a beacon instead. Keep these Core-mode rescues separate from Wildcard's automatic revival rules.
