Xbox Free Play Days8-11 October 2026

You can play Screamer, Family Man and ARC Raiders during Xbox Free Play Days from 8-11 October 2026. You also get timed trials of High On Life 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Little Nightmares III and Rogue Waters. This page covers the 8 October announcement; check your regional Store for the offer available to your account before downloading.

Install from the Free Play Days collection

On your console, press the Xbox button to open the guide, then choose Store > Home > Subscriptions. Scroll to Free Play Days and press X to view the whole collection. Open the game you want and choose its available install or trial option. Screamer and Family Man need Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate; ARC Raiders and this week's four timed trials are open to all Xbox players.

You can also open the game's Xbox.com page and sign in with your Microsoft account to find the installation option. Use the console column above to choose a compatible download: Family Man, Little Nightmares III and Rogue Waters support Xbox One as well as Series X|S. Screamer, ARC Raiders, High On Life 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 are Series X|S games. Choose the console version for this weekend's Xbox event.

Check the offer on your local Store page before starting a large download. A timed trial gives you a set amount of play time within the event window; Rogue Waters gives you two hours. For the other trials, read the allowance displayed with the trial option. If the offer is missing, confirm your account's membership for the subscriber games and check the Store listing for your region.

Choose your first game

For Screamer, start with Tournament to learn the characters and the Echo combat system through its story. You can also go straight to the Arcade modes: Race! lets you change racing settings and the amount of Echo combat, while Time Trial challenges you to set your fastest time across three laps. For a shared session, Split screen supports up to four players locally. Pick a mode that fits the time you have before the weekend offer ends.

Family Man gives you a single-player story about paying back a debt to the mob in three weeks. You can earn money honestly or take dirty jobs, with decisions affecting your neighbourhood and household. ARC Raiders takes you from your workshop in Speranza to the surface to scavenge, then back underground to craft and improve your equipment. You can venture out alone or in a party of up to three. Choose either game's base-game offer to begin.

Little Nightmares III follows Low and Alone through the Spiral. You can play solo with an AI companion or use online co-op with a friend. Rogue Waters gives you turn-based pirate battles, ship upgrades and a crew to recruit and train. Its two-hour allowance makes it a shorter sample, so check the trial option before settling in. High On Life 2 gives you talking weapons and skateboarding, while S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 takes you into the Chornobyl Zone.

Continue after the weekend

Buy the game to carry on where you stopped once the free period finishes. Your earned points and purchased DLC carry over, and you keep the Gamerscore and achievements earned during the event. Check the edition and local price before paying: the base game and an upgrade are different products. Discounts can continue beyond the free-play window, so use the Store's current offer when deciding whether to purchase.

Last week's games: 1-4 October

Last weekend you could try Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones and The Crew Motorfest without a Game Pass membership. That Ubisoft Free Play Days event ran from 1-4 October 2026 and has ended. Use this week's collection for the current offers; open the individual Store page to purchase one of last week's games or check your existing access.
