Claim both Windows base games before 4pm BST on Thursday 15 October, equivalent to 8am Pacific Time, to keep them in your account. You can download them later. Epic free games for 8-15 October

In Out of Sight, you play Sophie, a blind girl who sees through her teddy bear's eyes. You explore a dark mansion, solve puzzles and evade your captors using that unusual perspective. The Epic version supports controllers and requires Windows 10, 8GB of memory and 5GB of storage. Check the full system requirements on its store page before downloading, especially the listed GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 470 graphics requirement.

TerraScape gives you floating islands to turn into settlements by placing buildings and combining their influences. You can build alone, coordinate a kingdom with friends in co-op or compete for points. Your free claim is the base game shown in the table; choose that listing when browsing the separate Ancient Egypt add-on. The Windows version lists 4GB RAM and 3GB storage as minimum requirements, with 16GB RAM and 5GB storage recommended.

Claim both games with your Epic account

Sign in to the Epic Games account you want to keep the games on, then open the store's Free Games page. Choose each current offer and check that its base-game listing says Free before selecting Get. Follow the store's claim prompts for each game separately. Your account is the prerequisite for this giveaway; you can claim through the website and install through the Epic Games Launcher when you are ready.

Enable two-factor authentication before claiming. Open Password and security in your Epic account, find Two-Factor Authentication and select Set up beside your preferred method. Enter the code from your email, SMS or authenticator app as appropriate. Your account confirms that the method is active, and Epic sends a confirmation email. Once you have completed that setup, return to the free game listing using the same account.

Install from your library and check ownership

Open the Epic Games Launcher and go to Library. A game you own appears there, so check for both titles before leaving the claim process. To install one, select it, choose your installation directory and click Install. When the download finishes, click the game's icon to launch it. You can keep the second game uninstalled until you have room; the free claim remains in your account after this week's offer rotates.

If a claimed game is missing, check that the launcher uses the account you redeemed it on. In Library, select Filters at the top right, uncheck Installed and click Reset to clear active filters. Use the Refresh icon beside the Library heading to refresh the view. An Installed filter can hide a newly claimed game that you have not downloaded yet, so check your full library before repeating the claim.

Last week's Epic free games

For the 1-8 October rotation, you could claim Buried Stars and System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. Their free offers ended on 8 October 2026. Buried Stars puts you among contestants trapped after a televised audition collapses, while the System Shock 2 remaster takes you aboard the Von Braun with updated widescreen support and cross-play co-op. Look in your Epic library to install either game you claimed during that window.

Your earlier claims stay with your account when the weekly selection changes. You can also uninstall an owned game to free up space and redownload it from Library later. For the current pair, finish claiming before the 15 October deadline; you can then choose when to download and play each one.
