Switch Sports Resort: how to get Mii opponents

To get Mii opponents in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, open Options, then User Settings, then Other, and choose Always for Mii appearance. This makes guest Miis and Miis registered on your Switch 2 appear as CPUs every match in offline competitive sports. This covers version 1.1.0, released on 21 October 2026 ahead of the game's 22 October launch.

Install the update before changing the setting

Connect your Switch 2 to the internet, then highlight Nintendo Switch Sports Resort on the HOME Menu without opening it. Press the + Button or - Button to open its software options. Check the version number beneath the software title: 1.1.0 is the update that adds the Mii appearance control. Your existing save data remains available after updating.

Select Software Update, followed by Over the Internet, and let the download and installation finish. With Software Auto-Updates enabled, your connected console can install the update automatically. Use the version display to check the installed game before looking for the new option.

Set Mii appearance to Always

Start the updated game and follow Options > User Settings > Other. Find the Mii appearance setting and select Always. Use this for offline competitive sports: it controls the computer opponents you face in those matches. Keep your previous selection in mind so you can return to it through the same menu if you prefer the earlier appearance mix.

Play an offline competitive match and look for Mii CPU opponents. The setting draws on guest Miis and Miis registered on your system; it applies to their appearance as opponents. For playing with other people instead, check the separate local and online player limits before choosing a sport for your group.
