Nintendo has announced a Japan-only Switch 2 bundle that pairs the console with a choice of one digital game for ¥63,980, including tax. It launches on 12 November 2026 and uses the Japanese-language console, which only links to Nintendo Accounts set to Japan. Jiji Press reports that the package is exclusive to the Japanese market.
The choices are Mario Kart World, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. The first two are Switch 2 games; Tomodachi Life is the original Switch version. Buyers receive a download code in the box and select their game in Nintendo eShop, rather than receiving all three or a physical game card.
Nintendo currently lists the standalone Japanese-language Switch 2 at ¥59,980, so the bundle charges ¥4,000 extra for the selected game. Comparing that premium with Nintendo's Japanese digital-game prices gives the following savings against buying the console and download separately. These are comparisons with suggested retail prices, including tax, rather than a claim about every retailer's price.
| Selected game | Digital price | Bundle saving |
|---|---|---|
| Mario Kart World | ¥8,980 | ¥4,980 |
| Nintendo Switch Sports Resort | ¥5,980 | ¥1,980 |
| Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream | ¥7,100 | ¥3,100 |
The hardware restrictions apply beyond the included download. Nintendo's product page says Japanese is the only system language and only accounts whose country or region is Japan can be linked. A UK-region account therefore cannot be linked to this console. Nintendo separately lists its multi-language model at ¥69,980; the new offer names the Japanese-language model.
That also affects a move from an existing console. Nintendo's local system-transfer instructions require every linked account on the source system to have its country or region set to Japan when the receiving Switch 2 is the Japanese-language model. The instructions say an original Switch with even one user signed into an account set elsewhere cannot proceed at the connection stage.
To claim the game, Nintendo's bundle page directs buyers to open Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu, enter the included number and select a title. An internet connection and Nintendo Account are required. The FAQ says the selected game cannot be changed after redemption, and lists an already-purchased title as one reason a claim may fail. Nintendo has no plans to add more choices. The code must be redeemed by 31 March 2027; after that date it cannot be used to claim a game.
