You cannot sell Treasure Cars in Forza Horizon 6. Keep these discoveries in your collection: the Auction House excludes them, alongside Barn Finds and loyalty reward cars. If you found an abandoned car using one of Mei's photograph clues, treat it as a car to restore and drive rather than an auction listing.

This applies to the released PC and Xbox Series X|S versions, checked through the City Life update released on 2 November 2026. The important removal change arrived on 13 July: Treasure Cars are protected from removal through My Cars. Selling and deleting are separate actions, and neither provides a route to cashing in a Treasure Car.

Check which kind of car you have

Use the car's acquisition route to separate the different systems. Treasure Cars are abandoned discoveries located using photo clues. After finding one, you can restore it and drive it immediately or add it to your garage. Aftermarket Cars are vehicles offered for purchase around Japan, usually at a discount. Finding a car outdoors does not, by itself, make it a Treasure Car.

The auction restrictions are straightforward:

  • Treasure Cars: keep them; they cannot be sold in the Auction House.
  • Barn Finds and loyalty reward cars: these are excluded from Auction House sales too.
  • DLC cars: you can buy and sell them through the Auction House when you own the relevant DLC.

The July update also changed the credit cap applied to non-Autoshow cars. That pricing change concerns auction prices; it does not turn protected Treasure Cars into eligible listings. Choose an eligible vehicle instead when you want to raise credits through a sale.

Ask Forza Support about an old accidental removal

If you accidentally removed a Treasure Car before the July protection was introduced, open Forza Support and use Submit a Ticket. Describe the missing car and the accidental removal. The July patch notes direct affected players to that support route; downloading the fix and requesting help with a car already lost are separate tasks.

Keep the request focused on the removed Treasure Car. Include its name and your platform so support can identify the problem. For a different missing-car problem after an auction, return to the Auction House and select the completed auction to claim its car or credits. A Treasure Car that cannot be listed belongs to the protected category, rather than an unclaimed auction result.
