GTA Online Career Builder not showing?

Check your edition and whether you have already used Career Builder in GTA Online. It is a one-time introduction on PC Enhanced, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Keep your existing character while checking: deleting a character that used it will not restore the offer.

This guide covers those three versions, including GTAV Enhanced on PC, released on 4 March 2025. The eligibility and migration rules apply to the current support instructions, checked on 13 October 2026 alongside Title Update 1.73's entries through 1 October.

Check the edition you actually launched

On PC, look for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced in your library and launch that edition. Grand Theft Auto V Legacy is the separate older version. Enhanced's Steam bundle also includes Legacy and its Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack, so having both in your library is normal. Check the name of the game you opened rather than treating a bundle purchase as confirmation that Enhanced is running.

On console, use the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S edition of GTA Online. The PS4 and Xbox One editions do not include Career Builder, even when you play an older edition on a newer console. Once you have identified the correct edition, check your previous use before making another character.

Keep your character if you already used the offer

Career Builder and its GTA$4,000,000 start-up allocation can be used once. A second character does not give you another turn after you have chosen a criminal career through it. Keep playing your existing character instead of deleting it to force the introduction to reappear. The same limit applies even if you barely played after making the choice.

If you have never used it, the eligible introduction offers Biker, Executive, Gunrunner or Nightclub Owner when you create a new character or overwrite a profile. Treat overwriting as a character decision, not a troubleshooting step.

Check what you chose after migration

After migrating on PC from Legacy to Enhanced, you reach Review Character. Continuing with the migrated character takes you straight into GTA Online. That is the expected route for keeping your progress; a missing career-selection screen at that point is not evidence that the migration failed.

Starting a new character at Review Character overwrites the existing character slot. Choose that branch only when you deliberately want to replace that character. If you have not previously created a character through Career Builder in Enhanced, that branch brings you to its selection screen. Keep the migrated character if preserving it is your priority.

Migration from PS4 or Xbox One to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S has the same Review Character choice: continue with your existing character to enter Online, or start a new one and overwrite that slot. The new-character branch offers Career Builder when you have not already used it. Progress made on different console generations is not synchronised after migration.

Check the allocation before expecting cash

Use the GTA$4,000,000 allocation for the start-up Properties, Vehicles and Weapons offered by your selected path. You can bring at most GTA$1,000,000 of it into Online afterwards. Judge the result by the selections you made and the remaining balance, rather than expecting the whole allocation as spendable cash once you arrive in a session.

Ask support about an eligible missing introduction

Still missing on the right edition without a previous use? Open Rockstar's GTA V support page and choose Submit a Request. Include your edition, platform, whether you migrated, the Review Character choice you made and a screenshot of the screen you reached. Describe whether career selection never appeared or whether a later tutorial or loading screen stopped you. Keep your character intact while support examines the case.
