To Mori the last survivor in Dead by Daylight, put them in the Dying State, approach them and complete the Kill interaction. You can use this free Finisher Mori with any Killer, without bringing an offering or first putting that survivor through two hook stages.
This covers ordinary 1v4 Trials on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The live PC and console patch is 10.2.2, released on 20 October 2026; Switch updates follow a separate schedule. The free finisher arrived in 8.3.0 on 8 October 2024, with the two-survivor condition below added in 9.0.0 on 17 June 2025.
Use the free Finisher Mori
Start with the survivors who are still in the Trial. For the simplest finisher, your target must be the last survivor left alive. Someone else who is injured, crawling on the ground or still hanging on a hook can change which condition you need to meet. Being the only survivor standing upright is not the same as being the last survivor alive.
- Put the final survivor into the Dying State, lying on the ground. A healthy or injured survivor still needs downing.
- Approach the downed survivor and look for the Kill interaction. Use its displayed input, rather than the pick-up interaction.
- Complete the interaction charge to start your Killer's Mori animation. Follow the keyboard, mouse or controller prompt shown by your game.
The animation is your success check. Downing the survivor alone does not automatically launch it: you choose whether to perform the finisher. You can still choose a normal hook sacrifice instead. If you want the Mori, use Kill while the survivor is down rather than picking them up to carry them to a hook.
Finish while the other survivor is hooked
With exactly two survivors alive, check both states before trying Kill. One must be hooked and already in the Struggle Phase; the other must be in the Dying State. Once both conditions are met, you can Mori the downed survivor without waiting for the hooked survivor's sacrifice animation to finish.

Starting that Mori also starts the sacrifice of the survivor who is struggling on the hook. Treat it as your decision to finish the Trial. A survivor on their first hook phase does not meet this condition, and a second survivor crawling on the ground does not meet it either. In those situations, continue with normal play rather than expecting the free finisher prompt.
Separate the finisher from Mori offerings
You do not need to find or equip a yellow Cypress Memento Mori for this route. Its last-survivor effect became part of every Killer's basic abilities, and the offering was retired. Buying more Bloodweb nodes to look for a Cypress offering will not unlock the free finisher.
Ivory and Ebony Memento Mori offerings serve a different purpose: they allow eligible mid-match kills. Their targets must have reached the second hook phase. Keep that requirement separate from the free last-survivor finisher, which can kill a target with no previous hook stages. For perk-based alternatives, first check how to share Killer perks between characters.
Check a missing Kill prompt
First check the target is downed and recount the survivors still alive. If two remain, inspect the hooked survivor's phase. Then distinguish your free finisher from any offering or Killer-specific ability you were expecting to use. More Prestige, a different cosmetic or another Bloodweb level is not part of the free finisher's requirements.
If those conditions are met and Kill still stays unavailable, record your platform, game version, Killer, loadout and each remaining survivor's state for Player Support. Capture the missing prompt if possible. On Switch, check the version you actually have installed before comparing it with a newly released PC hotfix; Switch release and bugfix updates can arrive later.
