Monster Rancher Advance, Metal Slug Advance and Kururin Paradise join Nintendo Switch Online's October 2026 games on 14 October. You can play all three through Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Classics on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. This page reflects Nintendo's 14 October announcement and the current UK library.

October's new Nintendo Switch Online games

You get three additions to the same GBA app, so download or update that library once to reach the whole selection. Pick Monster Rancher Advance to raise creatures generated from words, Metal Slug Advance for an island combat exercise with collectable cards, or Kururin Paradise to steer a rotating craft through obstacle courses. Check the language note before choosing: the UK library offers Kururin Paradise as the Japanese version.

Your Expansion Pack membership gives you access to these games through the GBA collection while your membership is active. Start with the Nintendo Account you use for that membership and keep an internet connection available for downloading the app and its updates. The library can also require an online membership check periodically when you open it, so connect again when it asks you to validate access.

Download the GBA library on your console

On Switch 2, open Nintendo Switch Online from the HOME Menu and choose Nintendo Classics on the left. Choose Game Boy Advance from the library options across the top, then select the console icon at the start of its games list. Choose Free Download to open its eShop page, then Free Download again. Wait for Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Classics to finish downloading to your HOME Menu.

On the original Switch, open Nintendo eShop and select your subscribed user. Choose Nintendo Switch Online in the left menu, find the GBA library under Expansion Pack Content, then choose Free Download twice. Use a user with an active Expansion Pack membership to open the downloaded app. You access October's games inside that library rather than downloading three separate game applications from individual eShop listings.

Update the app and start a new game

If October's games are missing, update the GBA app first. On either console, connect to the internet, highlight Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Classics on the HOME Menu without starting it, and press + or -. Choose Software Update, then Via the Internet. Let the download finish and reopen the library to check for Monster Rancher Advance, Metal Slug Advance and Kururin Paradise in its game selection.

Open the library, select single-player play from the left menu and choose your controller arrangement. Highlight the game you want and press A, then follow its starting instructions. You can play alone in handheld, tabletop or TV mode with compatible controllers. For Kururin Paradise, expect Japanese menu text: its Japanese-only label applies to the game itself even when your console menus are set to English.

Last month's Nintendo Switch Online additions

September added Star Fox Adventures to Nintendo GameCube - Nintendo Classics, alongside Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom, IKARI WARRIORS and R.C. PRO-AM II in the NES collection. Read September's NES additions and regional selection for that earlier update. You can return to those libraries for last month's additions. Star Fox Adventures uses the Switch 2-exclusive GameCube app and requires Expansion Pack; the three NES games use the standard Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Keep the library and tier separate when choosing what to install: October's three games use GBA, September's Star Fox Adventures uses GameCube, and the other September additions use NES. Nintendo's September recap presents these as library additions, with no departure date announced. Open the matching collection with an eligible subscribed user to play them alongside October's selection, rather than looking for a separate monthly claim button.
