Blue grass and red water make the Hollow Marsh an unusual place to put down roots. Lightyear Frontier's new swamp sits amongst the clifftops of the Sandswept Highlands, and FRAME BREAK is offering it as somewhere to farm. The last stretch of this mech adventure has room for a new home.
The 1.0 release arrives on 4 November for PC and Xbox Series X|S, bringing the story's conclusion alongside two new regions. Existing saves carry over. For anyone already attached to a patch of this planet, that's a welcome starting point: the farm you've built belongs to the journey into the full release. Yesterday's building update adds a more domestic reason to follow that journey, with new ways to plan and furnish a homestead.
Somewhere to stay in the Highlands
The Sandswept Highlands put agriculture amongst the remains of an empire. There are mesas, ancient ruins and broad plains that FRAME BREAK describes as suitable for large endgame farms. Cliffs add height to exploration and resource gathering, while new crops and minerals give the region its own supplies. This is also where you'll travel for the final step in helping the Colonies. The place that carries the story towards its ending doubles as land you can cultivate.
Hollow Marsh offers a different prospect within that expansion. Fog, blue vegetation and the new Starfall Tree give it a particular identity beside the Highlands' dusty spaces. The developer explicitly points to a farm here as a reason to visit. That gives the map expansion a lovely domestic pull: alongside gathering its resources, you can choose the swamp itself as the setting for a build. Blue grass is quite a change of scenery for the front door.

The mech is growing into that landscape too. The launch announcement's new upgrade paths cover tools, body parts and transform modes, removing the need to recraft through every tier. A fully upgraded machine gains continuous flight through the Skyblazer mode, with hover thrusters and a rapid-fire seeding mod adding other ways to work. It's a wonderfully excessive farming fantasy: the vehicle carrying you through alien country can become the equipment for tending it.
There is more help with deciding what grows outside, too. The farming overhaul adds a HUD preview of planting results, so crop rotation becomes easier to plan at the mound. Harvesting Mutated crops will provide ordinary produce alongside the Mutated yield. New Fertilizers increase a mound's yield without changing its type, while the existing type-changing treatments become Mulch. Planning a field therefore involves separate choices about what its soil produces and how much it yields. Those choices give a new plot some work worth thinking through once you have chosen the view.
Sketch the place before filling it
Planning Mode lets you place holograms in Build Mode without contributing resources. You can lay out an idea before paying materials into it. Holding Interact will also keep resources going into different Constructs without another press for each piece. Those are useful changes for linked fences and houses, where the arrangement extends beyond one object. The plan can take shape across the ground before construction catches up with it.
There are smaller touches for settling in. Lola's new bathroom decorations unlock after 16 deliveries; kitchen decorations follow at 31. A sink, fridge and dishwasher sit alongside the Moxa Lisa poster. Two new Coziness buffs connect home-building with movement: Homestead Swiftness raises Exofarmer speed inside a Home Area by 50%, while Eco Driving cuts mech fuel consumption by 20%. Domestic comforts have a place in progression as well as in the room.

The harvest has a destination
Deliveries link that growing home to the Colonies beyond it. Version 1.0 consolidates the available jobs and reduces the total needed to finish the game, with resource requirements adjusted too. The delivery menu brings the planet information onto its main screen and checks for a complete load, replacing separate contributions of individual resources. Multiple deliveries can be queued for sending together. A full harvest can move through the menu with fewer repeated stops.
The recipients develop alongside the work. New dialogue accompanies Colony Representatives as deliveries help their communities move from Struggling to Thriving. Prometheus Station becomes a destination for single-player Research Initiative deliveries that unlock Mods, removing the need for other players' contributions or a wait for new initiatives. That gives a solo farmer a direct route through this part of the supply effort. The work has named recipients and rewards, stretching the homestead's purpose beyond its own fences.
For the production side, our look at Lightyear Frontier's connected workshop explains how the coming storage changes feed crafting. The new regions give those operations somewhere else to belong. Its late-game missions bring the main story to a conclusion, while the new regions offer places with their own farming character. A foggy marsh is an appealing reward for an established farmer: fresh ground to arrange around a very different view.
