Two offers are open to every Xbox member
Xbox Wire lists Madden NFL 27 as a Free Play Days offer that does not need a Game Pass membership. The official page identifies it as Optimised for Xbox Series X|S, so that is the console generation Xbox has named for this particular offer. T3's independent coverage also describes Madden as one of the two games available to Xbox owners without Ultimate, Premium or Essential. Neither source establishes that it is joining the Game Pass catalogue; this is a limited Free Play Days window rather than a subscription announcement.
Dustborn has a narrower condition. Xbox Wire describes it as a two-hour trial and says it is available from 10 September through 13 September, while the Microsoft Store listing linked from the announcement shows a separate discounted purchase option. That makes the trial useful for players who want to sample the game without a membership, but it is not the same offer as unrestricted access for the whole weekend. Xbox's announcement does not state an exact closing hour, so players should treat 13 September as the final advertised date rather than assume the offer runs until a particular local time.
The remaining four games need an eligible tier
Borderlands 4, F1 25 2026 Edition, Surviving Mars: Relaunched and CarX Drift Racing Online are included in the same event, but Xbox limits them to Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members. On console, Xbox says eligible subscribers can find the collection through the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store. The company also directs players to the individual game pages, where they must be signed in before an installation option appears. Availability and discounts can vary by title and region, according to the announcement.
The event is currently listed as running from Thursday, 10 September until Sunday, 13 September. Xbox says purchases made during a participating offer keep any Gamerscore and achievements earned, but that does not change the temporary access conditions. For players without Game Pass, the practical choices are Madden NFL 27 and the two-hour Dustborn trial. Subscribers on an eligible tier have the additional four games, subject to the regional availability Xbox notes in the Free Play Days announcement.
