HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush is available in early access on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC from today, 7 September. Milestone says the window is for people who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition, ahead of the racer's full release on 10 September. That gives its eligible Xbox players three days to learn a game built around free exploration as much as conventional races. The important distinction is access, not a separate launch: the wider release has not moved, and the publisher still lists 10 September as the date for everyone else.
What the early-access window includes
Infinite Rush puts its cars in four freely explorable, toy-scale islands rather than a fixed progression of tracks. Milestone names Wheelswood, Tentacle Bay, Gearville and Drifty Temples as the locations players will work through, each with races, activities, obstacles and collectables. The developer says the single-player campaign leads towards challenges against each island's Rush Master. That structure is the practical change from a simple event list: an early-access player can roam between activities, but the game still ties progression to events, rival crews and the vehicles unlocked along the way.
The game's launch roster contains more than 150 vehicles divided between Versatiles, Drifters, Speeders and Titans. Milestone says players can assemble a Rush Squad with one car from each category and switch between them while exploring. That is a confirmed description of the system, not a guarantee that every class will suit every event equally well. The official material does not set out a complete vehicle list or detail every unlock requirement, so players considering the Ultimate Edition should treat early access as time with the finished game's opening days rather than a separate catalogue of exclusive cars.

Xbox versions and the full release
Xbox Wire lists the early-access version for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, and says it is handheld optimised for ROG Xbox Ally. The full release on 10 September also includes PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC storefronts, according to Milestone's launch announcement. For Xbox players, that means the early window is a benefit attached to the Ultimate Edition rather than an Xbox Series X|S-only launch date. The publisher's announcement and independent release coverage agree on the 10 September date after the game was previously scheduled for later in the month.
Milestone has also confirmed split-screen for up to four people, online multiplayer and cross-play. Its Xbox store description adds one limitation to that last point: Nintendo Switch 2 is excluded from cross-play. Those are the published multiplayer conditions at launch, but the sources reviewed do not provide a basis to judge matchmaking quality, performance on Xbox Series X|S, or how the game behaves on ROG Xbox Ally. They also do not establish whether every activity is available to an early-access player in the same way as it will be at the wider release.
Track building arrives with the racing
Alongside its races and exploration, Infinite Rush includes Sticker and Livery editors plus a Track Builder. Milestone says its ground-snapping feature can keep placed modules aligned with the terrain, while AI action markers define routes for virtual opponents on shared creations. This is part of the base game's stated feature set, not post-launch content promised for a later patch. The publisher has announced a separate Vehicle Pass roadmap for Deluxe and Ultimate editions, but has not turned that roadmap into a reason to delay the 10 September full launch.
For now, the useful date is straightforward: Ultimate Edition customers on the eligible Xbox platforms can begin on 7 September, while the full release follows three days later. The early-access period may be enough time to test the four-island structure, build a first Rush Squad and try the creator tools, but it does not change the game into a different edition for everyone else. Players without that edition can wait for the announced launch rather than assume that Xbox's early-access wording applies to every purchase.
