Stephen Fry Narrates Animated Short Film for Tin Hearts Puzzle Platform

Publisher Wired Productions and Rogue Sun, known for their artisanal interactive entertainment, have teamed up with the legendary Stephen Fry to produce a whimsical and remarkable animated adventure, ‘The Little Soldier Who Dared’. The animated short film acts as a prequel to the upcoming puzzle adventure game, Tin Hearts, and is available to stream now on YouTube. It will also launch soon as a free audiobook exclusively via Spotify.

The Story

Narrated by Stephen Fry, ‘The Little Soldier Who Dared’ is a prequel to Tin Hearts, taking place in Victorian times. Inventor Albert and his daughter Rose travel to a toymaking convention to show off their inventions and have an important meeting that could change their destiny forever. However, what goes on at night when the convention hall is emptied of its crowds? And will Albert's wish be quite what he was expecting? With its unknown and unique features, Albert's toys are set to make for an interesting convention.

The Collaborators

Rogue Sun founder and Managing Director Kostas Zarifis, who previously worked alongside Fry during the development of the critically acclaimed Fable games at Lionhead Studios, was the brains behind the project. Zarifis stated, “Wired then went on to suggest Stephen as the voice they wanted, which we thought was awesome, but maybe too ambitious! Time has moved on since Fable and our passion project for the last several years seemed a million miles away from our Lionhead days. But Wired were pretty confident and within days we heard Stephen was up for it and willing to record over a weekend between shooting in LA. The whole project came together in mere weeks!"

The team behind ‘The Little Soldier Who Dared’ includes Kostas Zarifis and Mike Faraday as writers, Taufiq Permana as the artist, Thor Hayton as the animator, and Matthew Chastney in charge of sound and music.

Tin Hearts: The Puzzle Platform Adventure

Players can purchase Tin Hearts on Nintendo Switch or prepare for its May 16th launch on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Utomik), PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox consoles. The game won the ‘Most Anticipated Nintendo Switch Game’ Accolade during Gamescom 2022, and it is an immersive, narrative-based, puzzle adventure wrapped up in a powerful tale of love and compromise. Players can march through and solve increasingly elaborate puzzles to unravel a deeply emotional story spanning generations and dimensions, masterfully woven into the fabric of an alternative-Victorian world.
