Cities: Skylines, the beloved city-building game by Colossal Order, is nearing the end of its journey. Paradox Interactive has announced the final expansion and content creator packs for the game, which will be released on May 23. The new expansion, Hotels & Retreats, will allow players to build luxury accommodations and tourist attractions, adding more depth to the game's economy.
Hotels & Retreats: A Mini-Expansion to Add Luxury to Your City
In Hotels & Retreats, players will start with a small hotel chain and gradually unlock more specialized accommodations, such as cabins, resorts, and luxurious hotels. The expansion also introduces new tourism buildings, including parks, restaurants, playgrounds, and cafès, to support your hotels. Location will be a key factor in your city's tourism success, as different locations attract different tourist groups. To accommodate this, the game will feature five new maps for your hotels, including three European-inspired maps, one tropical map, and one temperate map.
Content Creator Packs: Industrial Evolution, Railroads of Japan, and Brooklyn & Queens
In addition to the expansion, Paradox also announced three new content creator packs. Industrial Evolution, created by Samantha “Avanya” Woods, adds a new set of growable buildings that span different eras of industrial building styles, from red brick walls to modern, sleek industrial complexes. The pack includes 70 new buildings inspired by both historic and contemporary industrial buildings.
Railroads of Japan, created by Ryuichi Kaminogi, brings authentic Japanese railroad scenery to Cities: Skylines with stations, trains, buses, and more. You can watch your citizens travel using the metro, bus, and railroad and decorate your commutes with networks, props, and police stations.
Brooklyn & Queens, created by Prosper, offers a set of medium-rise high-density residential buildings and props inspired by the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens. The pack includes over 60 growable buildings and props, such as rental signs, window air conditioners, exhaust fans, stairways, and more.
New Radio Stations to Complement Your City-Building Experience
Alongside the expansion and content creator packs, Paradox is launching two new radio stations on May 23. Piano Tunes Radio features whimsical and elegant piano music with 16 songs and approximately one hour of music. 90’s Pop Radio, on the other hand, takes you back to some 20th century classics with 16 new tracks and almost one hour of music.
